Helpful Information
Employees on leave do not have access to Sunrun systems/email; however, they can still access Okta from a personal computer or device.
If placed on leave, either you or your manager will need to email leaves@sunrun.com 48 hours prior to your confirmed return date so that your systems can be reactivated.

- Your spouse, child or parent has a serious health condition
- You have a serious health condition that makes you unable to perform the essential duties of your job

Parental Leave
Employees going on a leave of absence due to the birth or adoption of a child must contact Broadspire to initiate the leave request and provide necessary documentation. Parental leave provides you with job and benefits protection, but may be unpaid.
Paid Parental Leave offers eligible full-time employees with a period of eight weeks of paid time off to bond with their newborn or newly adopted child. This policy is only applicable for children born or adopted on or after January 1, 2022. Paid parental leave for bonding is not subject to accrual and is not paid out upon termination if all or some portion is unused.
Pregnancy Recuperation provides eligible birth parents on approved STD with “top-off” pay to provide 100% income replacement for the duration of their approved short-term disability (not to exceed eight weeks). Pregnancy Recuperation pay does not commence prior to the delivery date. After this benefit ends, Paid Parental Leave would grant up to eight weeks at 100% pay for employees to bond with their child.
Employees in states that are eligible for wage replacement must apply for the state benefit. It is the employee’s responsibility to contact the state or appropriate vendor to apply and provide the necessary documentation.

Personal Leave
In an effort to recognize the needs of employees who require time off and who do not qualify for other leave types, Sunrun offers eligible employees an unpaid personal leave for up to 30 calendar days. Approval is not automatic.
Reasonable Accommodations
To comply with applicable laws ensuring equal employment opportunities for qualified applicants and employees with a disability, whether seen or unseen, the Company will provide reasonable accommodations where appropriate. Please contact Broadspire at 1-888-398-0079 to initiate the accommodation request. Visit the Employee Guidebook for more information on Reasonable Accommodations.
Leave FAQs
Q: My disability check is only for a partial amount of my pay. Why?
A: If you are in a state listed below, you may be eligible for State leave benefits due to State regulations. Sunrun’s paid leave benefits are offset by what you are eligible for/receive from the state. In these states, your disability payment is automatically adjusted/reduced by Broadspire to account for the expected state benefit you may receive based on the state’s specific legislative guidelines.
If you are in a state that does offer paid disability or paid family leave, you must contact the appropriate state or their appropriate vendor to file for that benefit.
Information on where to file for your state is listed in the disability or leave packet you receive from Broadspire, Sunrun’s leave administrator.
You must submit all final approved/denied paperwork from the state to Broadspire to receive any additional payments, if due to you.
As of February 2023, the following states have paid disability and/or family leaves: California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Washington. New states are subject to being added in the future without prior notice. If you need further assistance, please contact Broadspire at (888) 398-0079.
Q: Can I apply for leave if I am receiving Worker’s Comp benefits?
A: If you are receiving Worker’s Comp benefits, you are not eligible for any other paid disability or family leave. If your Worker’s Comp ends or is denied, please contact Broadspire at (888) 398-0079 to determine your eligibility and/or to apply for paid disability or family leave.
